This specimen is a genuine fossil tooth fragment attributed to Pappocetus sp., an early archaeocete whale from the Eocene epoch, approximately 40–48 million years old. Pappocetus was an early fully aquatic whale and represents an important stage in cetacean evolution between primitive archaeocetes and later whales.
The fossil shows natural enamel and dentine structure with breakage consistent with marine mammal fossils of this age. No restoration or artificial enhancement has been carried out. The piece is ideal for fossil mammal collectors, academic reference collections, or educational display.
Period: Paleogene
Age: ~ 44 million years
Origin: North Africa
Each fossil is entirely unique, with natural variation in colour, texture, and preservation resulting from geological processes.
